I can't add much to Jim's excellent post. Here is a link to the ferry schedules and costs.

Nice picture Frase.

Thanks for all your help, Jim and IslandCruz...this is exactly what I was looking for. We get in port at 7AM, and don't have to be back on the ship until 5, so we'll probably take the cheap bus transportation.

Sounds like you have plenty of time. We spent as much time as we wanted at Trunk bay and still had enough time to go back to the ship, shower, change and go back out for about an hour of shopping... The bus stop is not easy to find unless you have done it before. Get outside the port area and ask a local. Its not too far from the entrance to the port. I actually enjoyed the bus ride. We got to see the "real life" of the island which was nice. Hope you have fun!

Also, when you get to St John's check the schedule for the returning Ferry. Then clock the taxi ride time tot he bay and you will know when you have to leave to get back in time to catch a ferry without having to wait too long.

Thank you Island Cruz. Trunk Bay is such a beautiful place, it is too easy to take a nice photo while there.

One place that we never miss in St. Thomas is the Tropical Deli - It is a little local place off the beaten path. Not much $$$$ for a quick meal - this is where the locals go. We always pick up a fresh cuban wrapped to go and head off on our own.
