Cozumel scooters

I went to Cozumel in Feb 2006 and we rented scooters at the pier for $50 for all day. I read that you can rent them for 1/2 that. Where?? Im going again in acouple weeks. If anyone knows where, email me at eminem51121@yahoo.com. Thank You

Go to www.islacozumel.net and get an idea of other rental agencies for less $$. There is Smart rent-a-car for advertised $15 (with computer printout ad) and Le$$ pay for $22. I can't confirm these because we got a taxi to Paradise Beach. Just google search on Cozumel and you can find a bargain, some maybe with a printable coupon for a discount. Good luck.

Be thankful that all you got was "ripped off". There is a family in our neighborhood that went scootering on one of the islands and the mother got into an accident and had to be medivac'ed to the states to save her life. She is ok now, but I bet she never does that again.

I ride a Harley in the states, and it still scares me to see people get of the cruise ship and start riding scooters on some of those islands. It really isn't a matter of how good a driver you are or aren't, you are in a foriegn country with entirely different driving habits and norms. Cozumel isn't too bad, but be careful!

The streets feature many pot-holes, the rules of the road are confusing, and foreigners involved in auto accidents go to jail.

we were advised by the cruise director on the Conquest to NOT rent the vehicles or scooters in ports. They do not do any preventative or regular maintainence on these and they're very dangerous.
