shore excursions stmaarten, stthomas,sanjuan, labadee

Can anyone recommend their favorite shore excursions for either St. Maarten, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Labadee? Please include likes as well as dislikes. THANKS!

St. Marteen is a good place for shopping, there is a nice beach to the left of the dock. We did a catamaran snorkel the last time we were there. San Juan's old San Juan is very interesting. St. Thomas is definitely snorkeling, either to Buck Island or St. John's Trunk Bay. Trunk Bay, you catch the ferry in St. Thomas $6/pp, then a cab ride to Trunk Bay (I think it was $4/pp) then it is a beach snorkel ($2/pp I believe). There are showers, lockers, a snack bar and a couple of shops (not cheap--St. Thomas is for shopping). Labadee is their private beach. Enjoy your cruise!

In San Juan we didn't book anything, but ended up getting a great land tour from the tour guides standing outside the dock. It was a lot cheaper than the cruiseline offered and was really fun. St. Marteen is defiantely the place to shop. We did a land a sea tour, which was fun, but we all thought that the day would have been better spent shopping. Great deals, especially jewelry. St. Thomas was our favorite port, beautiful water. We did the Catamaran Sail and Snorkel on the Castaway Girl. It was fantastic. They take you to a shipwreck snorkel and you get to lay around on this huge catatmaran. The crew is great and free rum punch is served on the way back. We also did the Parasailing in St. Thomas. It was a lot of fun. It was a little pricey, but well worth the money. How else can you see the crystal blue water from 100 feet????

We have done the Old San Juan, Bacardi factory,Old Forts and El Junque Rain Forest tours. There is something noble about drinking 12 year old rum at 9 in the morning; but, the Rain Forest was our favorite.
