What to do in Key West?

My group will be in Key West from 7am to 2pm.

Are there any "don't miss" things we should see while we are there?

We are planning on taking the conch train. We also want to visit the Hemingway home.

Besides that we have no plans. I would definitly like to enjoy a drink (mojito) at one of the bars and also pick up a shirt at one of the bars. Maybe even get a small bight to eat in one of the nice bars.

What about the Mel Fisher museum? What about the lighthouse?

Any suggestions?

It all depends, if you are tendering or docking. Tendering costs a lot of time, so maybe you have less time in Key West. We also have done the Conch train tour. There you can see most parts of Key west. After the tour you can stroll through the streets, take a look at some boutiques and make a stop in the bars.
But my opinion is, that they are only interesting in the evening, when they have live music and its more crowded. But unfortunately the ship leaves at 2 pm.
You can also make a tour with an electric car and visit all the places you are interested in by yourself.

Enjoy Key West, we loved it. And of course the rest of the cruise.

Hi Khona,
Looks like the countdown clock is getting close! Getting a "mojito" in Key West (or a t-shirt) is no problem - Duval Street is lined with options. Although very touristy I still like Sloppy Joe's and the Hog's Breath. Both serve decent (not outstanding but good) food. If you are looking for a nice restaurant/bar with very good food - try Kelly's.

You could try Jimmy Buffet's for a cheesburger in Paradise and a cold beer.They are very good.We always try to get in there if it's not to crowded.Tom

I recommend renting the little buggies(they are accessible as soon as you walk from port to the main hub) and they are about $40.00 if memory is correct. We have done the conch train, but feel that the island can be explored on your own easier. Have fun, whatever you choose, Key West is great!!
