Hi. Has anyone rented a jeep and just gone off on your own to explore the island? What sights were worth seeing? How far to the blowholes? Any problems at all???
Thanks, Renee |

Renee,
Exploring Grand Cayman by jeep can be fun, but just remember to drive on the left! If you head west of Georgetown you can visit Seven Mile Beach (I'm a beach person so its my favorite place) the Cayman Turtle Farm and Hell. You would travel east from Georgetown to get to the Blowholes. They are situated at the Breakers - about halfway between Boddentown and the East End. If you go in that direction you can travel to the north shore of the island - up to Rum Point. Nancy |
Thanks Nancy.
Do you know how long it takes to drive to Rum Point? Renee |
As close as I can recall, Rum Point is about an hour drive from Seven Mile Beach.

My opinion its not worth renting a car anywhere in the carribean....they all drive like maniac's plus oposite side of the road
There is a lot of cool stuff to right when you get off the boat |
I have to agree with you. Unless you are used to driving on the left hand side of the road, and are experienced in horrendous traffic, either take a tour or use public transportation.
Just getting to seven mile beach s an ordeal in a taxi. I couldn't imagine driving in that chaos. If it is your first visit to Grand Cayman, enjoy the town and seven mile beach. Just my opinion, Tom |
