11 of us are taking the cruise on Carnival Victory from Dec 21st to dec 28th starting from San Juan.
How far is the airprt from San Juan Port? What will be the best way to travel?
Also, has anybody taken this itinerary before?
Any help will be appreciated.
The airport is not very far from the port. I'd take a taxi (or multiple taxis) if you are coming in the same day as your cruise. The taxi rates will be posted in the airport, read them and don't let the taxi driver over charge you. Your group is large enough that even a van type limo is going to require more than one vehicle. Have you priced out cruise line transport?

Hi vilkhus, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Congratulations on your up-coming cruise. We've sailed a few times out of San Juan. The southern itineraries are my favorites. I hope you're coming in early for your cruise, but if not, the port isn't that far-traffic can be horrendous, though. Don't forget to try the chocolate melting cake for dessert-yummy! Hope you have a fantastic Christmas cruise! Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!
thanks for the feedback regarding the airport. i will appreciate if somebody can give me a feedback regarding taxi charges.
Also, if anybody has travelled on Victory before, any heads up will be appreciated.
I want to say it was $20 or there abouts. The last cruise we took out of there, we used the Princess Transfers. We haven't had the pleasure of sailing on the Victory, but I'm sure there are others who have. In fact, I see in Jim's signature he was on her recently.
We're doing that itinerary 11/30...Did a similar one 3 years ago on Adventure of the Seas. It's a GREAT itinerary. . .like that there are 2 islands we haven't seen (St. Kitt's and Dominica). We really liked Barbados but weren't wild about St. Lucia, although everyone else loved St.Lucia. . .just personal preferences, I guess.
RE: The Victory. . .I sailed her on a different itinerary 2 years ago and LOVE that ship. . . .The decor was beautiful . . . teals and greens. . . .not garish or over-the-top. The crew was great, and we never had a problem with food or anything. I understand the ship was in dry dock earlier this year and that they added the outdoor movie screen (I forget what it's called.)
They do not have the fish and chips station on the Victory. Being as I hate fish, this didn't bother me, but others missed it.
well I hate to say it but I envy you I had been waiting years for Carnival Victory to come to Puerto Rico
I book it as soon I knew it,
I was suppose to cruise with them next year and now I have a baby coming up during may so I will have to cancel it and wait another year just to cruise on it or At least I hope...
Your taxi from the airport is $23.50. That's the set rate determined by the taxi authority.
This itinerary is great. I've been to most of the islands before, but found them even better this time around. Our favorite was St. Kitts, one of the new ones for us.
