Bahamas

We are going to the Bahamas in June on the Valor. Any ideas for the shore excursions?

This is just MY personal opinion. There really isn't THAT much to do in Nassau. But anything that there is to do you can find by walking to the dock. If you want to go to Atlantis, which everyone should do sometime in their life, just take a cab. Pretty cheap. Or there are plenty of LICENSED cab drivers who are certified tour guides who can take you on a great tour. We did that once and had a great time! And there's the always popular "just walk around town" and see all the banks!!

I agree with Steve 100%. Not a whole lot to do. I'm just gonna second what he suggested for you! Those are real good ideas for the Bahamas. I've never actually taken an excursion in the Bahamas myself. Have fun tho!!

we chose to see the island on a city bus. cost one american dollar...we went to the queens stair case which i really enjoyed..other then that i was not overly impressed with nassau...but stay off of the water taxi. they over load it and it is dangerous...its an accident waiting to happen

Hi don't know. Welcome. I'll third or fourth what everyone else has stated. Bahamas just doesn't "do it" for me. The straw market smells like pot and everyone sells t-shirts and what have you. It's a good place to buy your souvenirs.

Word of advice. Don't pay any local children quarters to let them sing you a song. They will follow you the entire day. I know this from experience.

Head over to Atlantis and do their beach for the day.

Got to SWIM with the DOLPHINS..... we did it last November, kids will never forget it ,,,

We swam with the Dolphins and was a nice experience to be able to be in the water with them. We also did the blue lagoon and snorkeled on our own. That is where they made the movie and neat being in a real pirates cove. You could really see how they would choose that place. I read about the Queens staircase, before we went, and forgot to go see it and was sorry I didn't go cause I thought that would have been neat. That was one of our first cruises and since then I could see why people would say nothing there, but for a newbie I thought it pretty nice. For sure it has put a desire in my heart to return to those beautiful turquoise waters. I am booked for next March for the Southern Caribbean.

I would 2nd to go on the swim with the dolphins. It is GREAT!! I would recomend to book it early. Last cruise I went on it was completely booked before the ship was even boarded. Here is a link:Dolphin encounter

By the way...did anyone mention that you should take a cab to Atlantis...NOT the water taxi. The water taxi drops you off almost a half mile away...cab takes you to the door. Heck...you're on vacation...enjoy!! The aquarium at Atlantis is incredable!!
