Private Excusrions: Get off the boat in time??

My husband and I are wanting to book excursions privately, since the cruises charge a lot and round people up in big groups. Is priority to getting of the ship at ports given to those who book Carnival excursions? I have been on the Big Red Boat and a Carnival Cruise about 6 years ago as a teenager, but just remember waiting "patiently" to get off the ship at port. Thanks for any feedback

I always book my excursions online. I've never had a problem getting off and on the ship in time. The excursion companies know how important it is to make sure every thing goes smoothly. There is usually a line because of security, but it don't take long. When you book, talk to them about the schedule. Have a great cruise!
