St. Maarten-Jeep Excursion

We would like to take the Jeep tour when the ship gets to St. Maarten, But I checked out Carnival's excursion price and they want about $200 for my wife and me. Would I be better off renting a car and following the Jeep- crowd?

In October we went into St. Maartin and rented ATV's. It cost us $65 to rent one for all day. They gave us a map and let us go were ever we wanted to go. We would have rented a jeep but there were six of us. We had a blast.

Thanks Sonny, That sounds great! Where di you rent the ATV's? Can you drive the anywhere?

No it wasn't far from the dock. What we did is we took the water taxi into down and asked someone on the street where we could rent a jeep or ATV. Before we knew it, some was taking us to the place where we rented the ATV's. We were only about 6 block from the ships dock. You drive the ATV's on the road just as you would a car. We went around the whole Island. We will do it again the next time we're in St. Maarten.

If you walk out of the dock area at St. Maarten and head toward town it is about a five minute walk. All the ATV's are parked out front on the lot. You can't miss it.
