Does anyone have any recommendations for good food and drinks in Progreso? I have always gone to the all inclusive hotel for the day but this time wanted to just lounge at the beach and find a good dining spot! Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm sorry I can't help you as I have only been there once and we ended up eating at an all inclusive... But we did spend a bit of time on the beach there and there seemed to be some restaurants along it. If you find a good one, catch its name and report back please...

Will do..I am going to venture out and see what comes along. As long as I can find a good margarita and decent mexican food, I am happy!

I ate at the Corona Beach Club - I was NOT impressed with Progresso in general - although I did enjoy the double decker bus tour-
They will prob get better after a few more years - I will try them again then..

I have to say I had the best time in Progreso. I just got back on Thursday. We ended up going to a place called Elaidas on the beach to eat. It is right on the Corona Beach but I have to say the service was super and the food was really good. (We had fajitas and quesadillas) If you eat there, you have free access to the beach chairs, umbrellas and volleyball. They also have a small pool for relaxing. The waiters would come by and bring whatever you needed and were friendly. We stayed there approx 4 hrs, ate, and drank plenty of the local beer called LEON and had several margaritas. Our bill in US dollars was only $38.
The only negative was the vendors would come over non-stop and want you to buy something. After a while of saying no, they finally eased up. I did buy a "current " movie and some home made baked good though! If anyone is going there, give this place a try. You can easily walk there from the flea market where the buses drop you off.

Hi! I was just wondering if there was any place to change into a bathing suit right there or if you should just wear it from the ship? Thanks!
