Roatan is a snorkeling and diving paradise. We took an excursion on a sailboat that included snorkeling. There was a similar catamaran excursion offered. But we took a 1/2 hour bus ride to get there. I'm not sure how close the swimming areas are to the ship, someone else may know.

Need some cruise help?

Hi Macmom111

My vote is for cave tubing in Belize. It is such a great experience. There are many different companies that offer it, but we went with Reggies.

We snorkeled at Belize and it was fabulous. It is a LOOONG tender journey to the port so we figured to catch a boat going the other way to the reef. They brought us directly back to the ship as well. Been on shore and there is nothing in the town I need to see. This was a ship's excursion.

Time permitting in Belize, lunch at the Haborview...it is to the "left" of the terminal when you return or to the "right" when you leave. The food was wonderful. We ate out on the downstairs patio.

Mayan ruins in Belize if you are into Mayan culture....I took the Belize River and Mayan tour the last time I was there...saw Hollar Monkeys, manatees, lizards, lots of birds, crocs...to me, it was well worth the time and money....On Roatan I took the island tour...once you get into the countryside, it's beautiful.....you do have to run the gauntlet of taxis, and people selling everything....Happy Cruising...

I agree with Kraftsinc on the Cave Tubing with Reggi's. We did it in May and absolutely loved it! We will do it again when we return in Nov. "Butts UP" Anyone who has done it knows what that means

The first time we went to Belize we went to Goff's Caye. It was truly beautiful, and could have been a sight for a Corona commercial. The only thing was you couldn't get a Corona or any other beer at that time. That was in 2002 though. Anyone been on the island recently?

Last year we just walked around and shopped. Not much fun for me. The Cave Tubing looks like fun, and has been highly recommended by many members here. So that is on my radar for this year.

We got rained out last year on Roatan, we had booked an excursion for Tabyana Beach. I don't know what to plan this year either.
