In San Juan

Can anyone suggest a beach that we can go to with children.

Luquillo beach in Fajardo is a great spot, about 2 hours east of San Juan. Please watch your selves and your belongings. Do not leave valuables in the car.

However, if time is short, go to the Condado area where the major hotels are and walk in like you belong. You will find excellent beaches and pools with good security. This is a short taxi ride from the pier, (under 20 minutes, traffic permiting.)

Mind you that this is the Atlantic side of the island and not the aquamarine calm waters of the Caribbean. Have a wonderful cruise and please come back to tell us about it!

Thanks Chef Ken. Luquillo beach is probably too far away. As I noted on another post a day ago HA cancelled the stop to Tortola and replaced it with San Juan. Having been there on three other trips, it is maybe my least favorite stop. We figure the best place to go would be a beach. Someone else mentioned Isla Verde. Any opinions of this beach would be welcomed.

Yes, Isla Verde, (near the airport) and Miramar as well as the Condado are very nice.

I have only been to Condado. It is easy and cheap to get to. But does not look like a caribbean beach at all. But if you are on a budget, it only cost a quarter to get there via the bus. Exact change required no dollar bills. Bus depot is near the pier.
