What are your favorite Bahamas's Excursions?

We go to Bahamas in Oct and I am in charge of picking excursions for our group. We go with 5 other couples none of which have been to the Bahama's or cruised? I've been a couple of times but it was 10 years ago and I don't remember where we went except taking a horse and buggy ride.
We went to some cliffs where the water was beautiful but don't remember where or what it was called????? Thankx

My absolute favorite thing to do in the Bahamas (in Nassau) is to go snorkeling via catamaran to Rose Island. You might also consider a visit to Atlantis on Paradise Island and explore "The Dig" (a pretty cool aquarium).

If your crowd likes to party than try the "Yellow Bird Party Boat" 3 hours total round trip on a triple decker yellow caterman with free flowing rum punch and a calypso band to a private island. There you can swim, lay on the beach, snorkle or just explore the island. On the return trip the party really gets rolling with dancing and limbo. We went with a group of 20 and had a blast. Of course, when we returned everyone had to go take a nap. I believe it leaves Nassau around 1:00 pm, which depending on what time you arrive in Nassau you will have plenty of time before hand to explore downtown area or even go to Paradise Island.

I was just in Nassau and would no longer recommend Atlantis as an option. While it is a very cool resort, the cost to simply walk around is a whopping $29 per person. You cannot use any of the facilities whatsoever, and enjoying the pools, slides, lagoon, etc is off limits.

I was standing by one slide when one of the children that was supposed to be having fun walking around Atlantis was crying his eyes out because he couldn't go down the slide. I felt sorry for the kid, as well as the parents.

I had a chicken burger and a soft drink. The sandwuch was cold, the server rude and the cost was $12.

I think the other suggestions are the way to go.

I totally agree if you are trying to utilize the Atlantis Waterpark/pool area - forget it!!! But, I believe it is still free to visit the casino and you can still purchase tickets right there to vist "The Dig" if you so desire - correct, or am I mistaken????

Thanks for the info. Since none of these people have been on a cruise before I really want them to get a good taste of what we are always raving about. I'm trying to get two of them to go back with us in April so hearing some of the negative is good, so I can sidetrack it and do other stuff.
One other question????? When we were there once staying we ate at an open air restaurant that was really nice and pretty expensive. The service and food was awesome but I cannot remember the name. Anyone been anyplace like that?

I was in Nassau just this past Sunday. After a leisurely walk in town, we came across a restaurant just like you described. The large Diet Cokes were $4! But the food was cooked to order, and very good. I believe it was called McDonalds.

There are a number of open air restaurants in Nassau - but here are a couple of my recommendations: Johnny Canoe's (good food, fun, casual outdoor dining next to the Nassau Beach Hotel) and Poop Deck (great seafood, fun atmosphere just east of Paradise Island Bridge). For an outstanding dining experience in Nassau, I like the Italian Pasta House (further out on Cable Beach not far from the Hilton).

What to do with you David????....HEHEHEHEHE!!! Are you married your wife must not know WHAT to do with you!
It was a restaurant that had FIVE courses David and then they brought around cigars for the men to choose one after the meal.
