Haven't been to Sea Grape Beach but I hear Rum Point Beach is the best. Anyone been there? Rum Point is uncrowded and no so touristy like Seven Mile Beach, no hotels. There are many hammocks along the palm fringed beach. You do not experience the high and low tides like you do on 7 mile beach. It's much more shaded and picturesque. There's a restaurant that's reasonably priced but you can't bring your own food on the beach. If you go by car or cab it takes longer. The ferry departs from the Hyatt Regency Canal on Seven Mile Beach at 10:00 a.m., Noon and 4:00 p.m. on Mondays - Thursdays and 10:00 a.m. Noon and 6:00 p.m. from Friday to Sunday. The return times from Rum Point are 11:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. weekdays and 11:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Fridays and weekends.
Some friends of ours go there a lot and they say it's the best. I was very dissapointed when our ship wouldn't stop at Grand Cayman because the sea was too choppy. Someone described it as 7 mile beach 20 years ago. Went to 7 mile once and didn't like it too much, crowded and too many hotels. Did Sea Grape area have hotels all around? Don't want to say the whole beach is bad, after all there are 7 miles of it. Here's a link to a site that has great pictures of Rum Point and extensive information...(mind you I have no affiliation with them, just did a lot of research and read a bunch of very positive reviews)...
