How do you handle carrying your wallet or purse or just your id, credit cards and wallet when you go on the water excursions? I have a couple excursions where you go from tour to water and back to touring. I was curious how some of you handle this.

There are waterproof pouches you can buy at sporting goods or travel shops, or onboard; you can put your I.D. and a little money in there and just wear it around your neck or on your wrist. Anything else can be locked in the bus or van.

The waterproof pouch is a good idea, I sometimes just put I.D. and a little cash in the pocket of my swim shorts, they have a Velcro type fastener, sure the cash gets wet but it still works for the odd beer or tips. We do not take passport ashore. We have never had any problems leaving cameras and bags on the bus or, if there are lockers at the water sport operator we use them. Sometimes the operator has a large “dry bag” you can use for the camera, he will take it along in the safety boat and then it is available when you stop to take pictures.

I agree with FMattox if you want to minimize what you bring, the pouch is an excellent idea. Unfortunately, I always seem to bring my video/camera case and that holds lots of stuff and the wife has one of her beach bags. We have been on lots of various water excursions and never (knock on wood) had anything end up in the ocean!
