Cozumel Question

Have any of you ever done the Isla de Pasion excursion in Cozumel? We have booked it on our cruise on the advice of a friend.

I did this tour in 2006. It was pleasant but I wished it lasted longer. Almost half the tour time was eaten up in transportation to and from the place (which is not really an island, but rather a beach area of Cozumel that was cut off by water from the mainland after a hurricane). You get a nice beach, an open bar that is quite rustic (think beer and soda more than mixed drinks), and a buffet lunch that wasn't bad but then it wasn't great either. We were lucky to be the only ship in port so we had the whole place and just 50 or so passengers who had booked it.

It was enjoyable and I can recommend it. Just be aware it is isolated and pretty basic. But then, that is a good reason to go.

We are going on this high speed boat to the island. They say that is a hoot in itself. If it is like the boat ride we had in Miami, it will be awesome. I also heard it is where they film the Corona beer comercials. I wonder if that magnificent bikini clad beauty resides there???

It was the Corona commercial place but they have dropped it after a contract dispute.

Also note that much of the staff at the Passion Island will be looking for tips. Cook, bartender, toilet attendent. Bring some small bills.

Thanks for the advice, Dave. I never mind tipping for good service. Too bad about the Corona beer dispute. I was hoping to get a glimpse of my fantasy girl!

We just came back from there 2 weeks ago. We did not take the twister boat but it did look like fun.

As for the Island, it was wonderful. Not too busy, they stagger the arrival and departure times of groups so it is not too busy at any one time.

The food was pretty good, the open bar was just so so but we don't drink much anyway.

Plenty of chairs and hammocks, The beach is great and the water clear and warm.

We would go back in a second. You will enjoy it very much.

Thanks Wilson, That is about the same way my friend described it. He rode the Twister and said that was a scream!
