We are planning on visiting Tortola in April.

I just read that the people were "unfriendly" there, is that true? The writer said that when they went to stores, restaurants, the people would ignore them, until they "almost" wanted to walk out.

Please give me your pros/cons if you have been there in the last year of the people.

Could it be the writer was rude? We've never found the people to be "unfriendly" in Tortola. Why would they want to hurt their main income? Tourism is all they have there.

I have only been to Tortola once. I didn't notice anyone being rude. I went to a marina bar for a drink, as I love to look at nice boats. The walkway to the boat slips had a sign that basically said no trespassing. The bartender overheard my conversation about wishing I could walk down and look at them. He told me to go ahead.

penny3333, I agree. It must have been the "writer", as some friends of ours who visited Tortola from their cruise last year, are planning on going "back" again, so it couldn't be that bad.

I was just "searching" for peoples opinions, since I read that.

I was in Tortola for the day, off of a cruise ship, last month. We did a glass-bottomed hydrofoil trip to see fish and turtles. While we didn't see much in the way of fish or turtles, the people we encountered certainly were friends and helpful. No problem there.

Well Dwayne that sounds nice , hopefully it will be that way when we get to Tortola.

I'm "counting" the days. Only "60" days till we leave. Yippee!
