Yes. You can also expect daily thunderstorms. Don't forget, September is the most active part of the hurriane season. This one of the reasons cruises are less expensive in Aug/Sept/Oct. Keep a close weather eye on your port of depature, and be sure to buy travel insuance with a trip cancellation provision.

For the past 6 years, we've gone around October 20th and until last year (hurricanes from hell season) we never encountered more than a 20 minute shower. Last year we sailed November 5th and there were 2 hurricanes brewing. We had more rain than normal, but did not have to cancel any ports. I bought some rain ponchos at Wal-Mart ($.84/ea) in the sporting goods department, when folded up were 4x6x1/2", weighed about 3 ozs. Most of the time we were already wet from snorkeling, so it didn't matter. Even if it does rain, it's not cold. We cancelled our snorkeling trip in Curacoa because it was lightning. Otherwise, we just went on our excursions and had a great time. I've already started my anti-hurricane dance for this year. Have a wonderful time!
