I went on the Merida City overview with shopping that was combined with the rodeo, and while I really liked the dancing and rodeo, I HATED the drive through merida city. It was very crowded and when we stopped to shop, all that happened was little kids stuck fans and little wooden chickens in our faces. It's not that that bothered me too much, we were just afraid we would get separated from our guide. Keep in mind that i have never been to mexico, but so much of progreso and merida city seemed sad. It being so crowded made me nervous,but that is just me. My mom uses a cane, and had we know that cozumel was so much more civilized, we would have skipped progreso alltogether. Now, if all you want to do is lay on a beach, progreso might have been fun. Our busdriver saved the day when another bus cut us off by turning left in front of us, and our busdriver slammed on the brakes and avoided hitting the other bus! Maybe other excursions were fun, but if i ever go on the same cruise again, i will skip progreso and have a spa day on the ship, lol! Cozumel was so beautiful and the water was SO clear!
