Cozumel Jeep or Dune Buggy Tours

We are visiting Cozumel at the end of March. Has anyone taken the jeep or dune buggy tours? We are looking at the tours offered by Island Marketing. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

We just got off dune buggy tour...it mainly is a caravan (no seat belts) through a very poor town and down a 16 mile road of vegatation on both sides and ends up at a very nice beach with veranda. The beach is clean in the immediate area but trashy within walking distance. The dune buggies go very fast and was a little unnerving for me..especially the safety issue. Scenery while driving is nothing to look at.

[OOO...correction....you talking about Cozumel...I went on dune buggy in Costa Maya....ignore my comments...they only apply to Costa Maya......

We did the Jeep Tour in Cozumel and it was sweet.

You first drive a short ways to a hotels beach where you go out with a guide. And he points out many fish. Bring two camera's to get all the shots.

Next you load up and head to the other side of the island. But before you get there you stop at the Pee Pee Station. Which is a tourist trap.

Then you head to the beach where you must put the JEEP in 4 wheel drive to make it over the trails,

If the Red Flag is up then you should not go in the water.

After driving in the hot weather no one listened.

They serve a great lunch taco's, hot dogs, unlimited soda and water. And we stayed until we were full. Played in the water and then we returned to the ship.

We have been on the jeep excursion twice in Cozumel - Jan 05 and Dec 05. Absolutely LOVED it both times. Of course, my husband enjoyed being able to drive. The tour guides each time were great, very personable and funny. The last trip we could not go inland as far because of the hurricane damage, but still enjoyed it greatly. Just be advised that the drive off road can be rocky and rough.

Great! Thanks for the positive feedback. We did book the 4.5 hour jeep tour, and it sounds fun.

We did the 4x4 Jeep excursion and loved it!! It is a lot of off roading and you get to drive the Jeep yourself. There are 4 people to one jeep. We got lucky and were with a couple who did not know how to drive a stick shift vehicle spo my husband got to do all the driving.
