On our RC cruise we are stopping in Jamaica. One of the doctors I work with said Blue Mountain coffee is the best but it is VERY expensive. Anyone know how I can get my hands on some and how much it is in Jamaica (and if I can bring it back with me)
Its not cheap. You can buy it at any of the tourist shops. Not so sure its worth the extra coin. If ou are REALLY a coffe nut you can go on the plantation excursions. Some go to where they grow it and you can buy it fresh from them and probably will get better coffee and a cheaper price.
Yes you can bring it back with you. As long as it is packaged. Its fresh fruits and veggies that customs has problems with.

They had Blue Mountain Coffee just about everywhere we went in Jamaica. I can't remember for sure but I think it was about $6.00 a pound there? I don't remember paying over 10 since I was getting some for friends back home. I can't stand drinking coffee, but I could tell a difference between it and the stuff from here. We still have some and I serve it to friends when we have parties and have the comment everytime how good it is. One lady is reeeeal picky about her coffee and loves it.
I don't know about Jamaican coffee, but the last time we were in Cartagena they were selling 100% Colombian coffee for about $2.00 a pound more than it cost at home--and tourists were scooping it up.

Lyn, you found a good deal. They wanted $10.00 when I was there and it was about $8.00 at home. This was in 2000; maybe ther is a glut now.
Could be ...prices were $5-7. most places.
we picked up coffee beans in each port all were in the $5. range.
I think I need a bigger tote bag to carry it all next year.
