Hi Everyone

Will I need Euros to shop in Martinique? Are American Dollars not used also?

The last time I was there (4 years ago apprx.) they took US, but gave change back in the Euros. They did have the prices listed in both.

The "official" currency is the euro but they will readily take dollars. Be wise before you spend. Determine which currency will give you the greater buying power. Martinique has always been a tougher island, I have witnessed three taxi strikes. That bing said alot of great deals on cosmetics and perfume within walking distance from the pier. Use plastic to receive the best conversion. MHO of course.
