I will be sailing on Carnival Glory on May19, we will be going to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize. I'm looking for the best excursions in Cozumel and Costa Maya. My husband wants to go to the ruins in Costa Maya, has anyone had any experience with David and Ivan, any other suggestions. We also want to go snorkeling in Cozumel. HELP!!!!!

We are a family of four and split up the day we were in Belize...My daughter and I did an excursion where we took a boat up the river and then we took a bus to the Ruins. It was just okay. It was Extremely HOT and no cover on the boat and it was about 1-2 hours on the boat. We did see some animals though in their natural habitat. The ruins were very interesting though. WE booked all of the excursions I am mentioning through the cruisline.

Costa Maya we took a catamaran and snorkeled...Lots of fun! One of our favorite days!

Cozumel we did the Dolphin Encounter. We did not do the Dolphin swim because my youngest was not old enough but it looked Fabulous. The encounter was thrilling but the Swim would be the best way to go as far as excitement and value for your money. We did not snorkel there so I can't help you with that.

oops forgot to mention in Belize my husband and son went deep sea fishing and loved it. If you are into that.

Hi Deb. Welcome. I've been to Belize and Cozumel many times. These are wonderful snorkeling spots. Check out www.caribbeanmag.com. Very good site. Our family enjoys Chankanaab National Park in Cozumel. Fantastic snorkeling can be had here. It's about a 15-20 minute ride from the cruise piers. It will not disappoint. There is a fee to enter the park, but it's worth every penny. Lounge chairs, food, drinks, music, lockers, changing rooms, showers, nature trails, beautiful landscape, crystal blue waters, beautiful tropical fish. Bring your cabin towels with you.

In Belize, we snorkel at Goff's Cay. Gorgeous. Gail's Point at the Barrier Reef is another excellent snorkeling and diving spot. Belize also has a baboon sanctuary, a zoo, cave tubing (haven't done yet, but we will be doing that on our next cruise to Belize.) The cave tubing is supposed to be awesome.

Thank you for all the info, I've read that going out on a boat to snorkel is the best bet???? Has anyone snorked the trimaran snorkel excursion with shoretrips???

We toured the ruins with David and Ivan and loved it! Our friends did this excursion this year, and also loved it. I would recommend them for anyone wanting to visit the ruins in Costa Maya.

When we were in costa maya, we just got off the ship and ended up taking a trip over to the Tequila beach club. It was fantastic, we were approached by a couple of people trying to sell us snorkling trips and we decided to try them. They charged us 40 bucks a piece for 2 hours of snorkling and then back to their beach for a full day of relaxation and all the food and drink you could want. It was great, we drank margaritas and ate until we almost couldn't move. I would highly recommend this place for a great day of relaxing under the sun.
