Grand Cayman Rays & Reef vs. Stingray City tour

Can anyone recommend either of these over the other? I've seen reviews where at the sandbar (which is where the Stingray City Tour goes) you can stand up, but am not sure if you can touch the ocean bottom in Stingray City (it says water depth is 10-12 feet). I want to be able to stand up and pick up the stingrays and kiss them like I've seen in pictures. We will also have our kids with us (7 & 10). Which would be better for them? We'll be on RCCL Rhapsody at the end of July. Thanks.

we will be doing the stingray city tour with our 4 children through Captain Bryan's $34 adult $25 children under 10. My concern was not being able to have your feet underneth you. I read a review somewhere and they said it was exhausting not being able to touch bottom. Sounds like to much work. We are going the end of March. I'll let you know how it goes if you like. Gennine

That would be great if you could let me know when you get back. We may go ahead and book, but can always change if we need to. I'm thinking based on other reviews I've read, that we need to stick to one that goes to the sandbar. It looks like it may be more fun anyway. Have a great trip. I wish ours was only a month away.

I did Stingray City, it was great! I have a few pictures posted here. They are not the best pictures, I was using some new underwater gear for the first time and had a few problems. You can get the general idea though.

We just got back from Stingray City....it is the sand barge where you can stand up. It was great. The snorkeling reef is just a few yards away. Be sure and go.
