Turks and Caicos

Have reservations on the Imagination for Jamaica and Grand Caymans, December 23 through December 28, 2006. We were informed yesterday that our destinations had changed and we would go to the Turks instead of Grand Caymans. Any information on how to spend our 7 hours (12:00 noon - 7:00 pm.) would be appreciated. We are not sure where we will dock.

THudgins - we will be there Monday 10/30 - - hope to have information for folks when we get back..... There does seem to be a lack of info on Grand Turk on these boards. Don't know if people are speechless from the beauty and excitement or from the boredom.

We were on Grand Turk in mid-September aboard Carnival's Fantasy. The island itself is very small, so we didn't take any tours. The island tour seemed to be the most popular but was pricey at about $42.00 pp. The bus took them to the other side of the island to a lighthouse, where there were wild horses & donkeys. The town itself was small & we were told only 3 places were open - a Govt building, a school, and a church. The area where the cruise ship docked was very nice and new, and I believe built by the Cruise industry. There was a huge swimming pool, lots of shops, and a huge Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville restaurant & bar, with bar stools in the water at one end of the pool. There, they had all kinds of contests, etc. so it was fun just hanging out & "people watching".

It is a relativly new destiation for cruise ships so maybe that is why the lack of info
