I am going to cruise on 12/27 aboard the Carnival Victory and wanted to know if anyone had any feedback or advice regarding the level of strictness on checked luggage dimensions. I have a suitcase that I wish to check that is bigger than the dimensions provided by Carnival. Has anyone ever had their luggage turned down due to dimensions? Or is this something I should not stress about? Any feedback will be appreciated!
Note they use the words "guests are encouraged" instead of it being an absolute requirement. As long as it isn't something with the dimensions of a steamer trunk you should be fine. How big is your suitcase?
Just remember if you are flying an oversized suitcase can cost you plenty to check with the airline.
I've never seen the curbside porters measure any luggage. They just throw it in the luggage cage "thingy". Unless it is as Dave said a steamer trunk or something that is way over the guidelines they probably won't say anything. Now the airlines is a different story.
Look here for Restrictions on what you can bring aboard.
I was pretty sure they didn't measure curbside checked luggage. Now if you are flying, that is an entirely different scenario and you should check with the airline.
