I will be traveling with a group of 17 in Feb. 2004 on the Adventure of the Seas. We will be flying in to San Juan the day before the cruise. What is the easiest and most economical way to get from the airport to the hotel and then the next day to the ship? We will be staying at the Mariott in Old San Juan. Are taxis the best choice or shall we look
into limo/shuttle service?

We are going on the same cruise the week beginning on the 8th. I have been to San Juan in the past and don't believe that the hotels offer transportation. Cabs and vans are the way to get around. Be sure to negotiate prior to getting in. There is a lot to see and if you are into history, be sure to go to Del Morro the old fort on the hill. Ride up and walk back through Old San Juan. Beautiful view of the harbor. We spent 2 1/2 hours up there just wondering around.
Let me know which week. We are staying at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino and going in on the 6th and out of the 16th. can't see San Juan on a drive by.....a lot to do and see. Let me know. GoatPro@aol.com. Husband and friends (hubby and wife) all in their 50's but don't act like it going on this trip. Let me know!
The pier nis actually located in San Pedro south of Los Angeles about 20 - 25 miles away. This is one transfer I would recommend taking the ship's transfers on. I suspect that a taxi would cost around $60 to $80 or so.
Another possibility might be SuperShuttle. I believe the cost to the port might be about $25 per person. If there are only a couple of you, it might save money over a taxi, and would be competitive with the cruise line transfer rates.
