Cancun, Mexico

A friend told me he was on a cruise through the Panama Canal and the ship stopped in Cancun. He said he walked down the gangplank into a covered area which housed Duty Free shops. Beyond that area was a city.

I've been going to Cancun every April since 1988, and I did not know that cruise ships call Cancun. Can you tell me exactly where the cruise ships dock?

Cancun does not have a pier. In fact, the ships that do stop at Cancun have to anchor out a long ways. Your friend is mistaken about the port he recalls.
