[First McCruise]

Can anyone tell me what currency I need on entry to enter each port and how much the tax and fees are? I am going on a Caribbean cruise for the first time visiting Cozumel, Puerto Limon (Costa Rica), Cristobel (Panama), Cartagena (Colombia) and Cayo Levantodo(Samana - Dominican Republic. Someone mentioned to me that I need to pay some sort of taxes/fees on entry and departure of each port. Is this correct?

Hi First McCruise, welcome to Cruise-Chat. The port taxes and fees are added in your cruise fare. So, you pay them before you leave. The US dollar is accepted everywhere. They're not as happy with it as they once were since the value is declining, but they do accept it. Hope you have a marvelous cruise and the weather is perfect for you. Also be aware they take plastic as well. But some credit card companies will question and even decline out-of-country purchases. So check with your credit card company before you go. This happened to me once and I was quite embarassed. And don't freak out at the bill on your receipt. It's in THEIR currency but will be converted for your bill.
