best beaches in Key West & Nassau Bahamas??

Can anyone give recommendations as to the what are the best beaches in Key West and Nassau Bahamas?

There really aren't what I would call good beaches in Key West. The most fun is at the pier around sundown. The city itself is charming, but the beaches are nothing to write home about. There are some great beaches in Paradise Island (across the bridge from Nassau), but I cannot remember the names. I'll search on the internet and maybe something will ring a bell.

I found the name of the beach I was thinking about in Nassau, it's Cable Beach. Have a great cruise!!

My sister lives a few islands up from Key West. Her advice: "Yes there are a couple of nice beaches in Key West. They are not huge beaches that go on for miles, but nice sandy beaches with room to roam. Its a small Island, so they are hard to miss and anyone can point you in the right direction. Its a great place to rent a scooter or a bike to get around, cars are not needed."

When I pressed for the names of the beaches, "Now you're pushing it! kidding, but no I don't know the names. Like I said, its a small island with only a couple of really good beaches, so when they get there, someone will be able to point them in the right direction."

Sounds like you won't have any problems finding the beaches!

Hi tobsterz, I cannot help in terms of Key West but in Nassau there are a couple of beaches that are quite nice.
As someone previously mentioned there is Cable Beach, this has all the latest watersports activities and is popular as there are lots of hotel complexes there etc. If you want to go to Cable Beach then you can either take a taxi or take the number 10 bus from Downtown Nassau (about a 4/5minute walk from where the ships dock). We took the bus as it's only $1 dollar each way and being a crewmember we always go for the cheapest option.
If you carry on, on the number 10 bus you can go to Sandyport beach (it still only costs $1 dollar) and that it is a very quiet and peaceful beach (it became a bit of a quiet getaway from ti all beach for us).
If you are going to Atlantis and Paradise Island then there is Cabbage Beach there, this is a free public beach just outside of the Atlantis complex. Again this has watersports etc and was one of my favourites.
