In Need of Tips! - Fascination POC Key West

Hi everyone. We are taking our first cruise June 18th aboard Fascination with POC at Key West and Calica. We have the Calica thing down. (Taking a private tour with Edventures near Playa) We want to do some shopping in Key west for our kids (who are NOT going BTW -- never been on vacation alone. YEAH!!) and would like to know what are the don't miss spots in Key West. We would really like to walk and don't really want to take an excur. due to the port only being a bit over 4 hours. Tips TIps Tips PLEASE!

The only problem with Key West is that you're usually not there long enough to see much of anything short of just walking around and gawking at the wierdos. Everyone needs to stop by Margaritaville and the bar (can't remember the name) where Hemingway went every day. Other wise just walk around town. Neat place...just not enough time.

Sloppy Joes Bar is the other that Steve is referring to I think...there are just so many neat bars and shops in Key West. On previous visits, we rented an electric car (or scooter if you are brave) and rode around the city seeing the various beaches, marinas, houseboat row, etc. You'll have a good time, but there's just not enough port time to fully enjoy the place.

If you like key lime pie, visit the Blond Giraffe. It's right off of the main drag downtown. They have one of the best pies I've ever tasted, even have one frozen, chocolate covered and on a stick-yummo! Sloppy Joe's is great, it is a port they need to spend more time in. There's some great snorkeling near by, but you can't get it done in 4 hours. Best wishes and have a marvelous cruise!
