Can someone suggest a nice calm beach that is not so rough. I went to Orient Bay in July, and it was so rough you could not stand up. The waves were really strong. I'm going again on the same cruise next July, but I want to try another beach. Thanks for your help.

There's a beach near the dock. Then there's the beach that the jets nearly land on. If you do a google search for St. Maarten Beaches, the first link is a good one.

Yep, I love to go to Maho beach. Just hang on to the fence and feel the thrust of the 747's at takeoff. (Oh, and ignore these pesky signs)

Dr. Livingston:
I wasn't able to see the video you posted. But, I found a video of Maho Beach, showing a 747 landing, on YouTube.com To go to the video on YouTube.com, click on this link:Majo Beach |
Wow, that video is crazy! http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif Looks like you could reach out and touch the planes!

If you go to Youtube.com and type in St Martin Maho Beach you will be able to see several clips of planes landing. Unfortunately there is also one of a plane crash. I wish I could find out when that happened and did people survive.

SanDee -- I can't find the one of the plane crash in Maho Beach, but there was a plane crash in Russia on that same list. Can you select/copy the Address of the Maho plane crash clip and paste it into the URL format setup on your message? I'm very interested in this since I am planning to go to St. Maarten before the end of this year.
