Could someone explain what is so great about cave tubing. Sitting in a inner tube in a cave in exotic Belize does not sound that appealing. Am I missing something? We have two teenagers and would like an adventure as well as getting a feel for Belize. The walk through the jungle sounds good, how is the bus ride? do you get to see much of the country?
Maybe we should snorkel instead?

Hello coollily, welcome to cruise chat. I'm not new to cruising, I've been on more than 40 cruises, and can tell you the cave tubing excursion is one you shouldn't miss. We used Reggie's through the internet. If you do a search on the site about cave tubing, you'll get a lot of answers.

Coollily, let me second Sonny's welcome to our little community of cruise enthusiasts. I, personally, have to admit that I never did the cave tubing while I have visited Belize. In the December2007/January2008 edition of Arthur Frommer's "Budget Travel" there is a great article on Belize cave tubing on page 68. Having read the article, I am psyched about the opportunity to enjoy this great adventure. Check it out for yourself and give us a review of your experience.

we also enjoyed the cave tubing, also used Reggie's. They were great, less expensive than the ship tour and we had a smaller group. You do get to see a lot of the country while on the bus ride, the jungle walk is about a third of a mile and not too exciting. But the tubing itself was a great experience!

I have always wanted to cave tube- we will be in Tortola in Jan. 2008 with 3 boys ages 12 and twins that are 10. Is cave tubing a good choice? they are good swimmers and VERY active.
