First Cruise in June 09

We are off for our first cruise in June. We do not do the beach, drink or able to walk distances. What is there to do in Free Port & Nassa? What is ther to do if we stay on board the ship?

Hi turtleshel and welcome to cruise-chat.com. I'll have to leave the port questions to others as it's been a long time since I've been to either place. As far as staying onboard, there will be plenty to do. This is when you will find spa specials, for instance. The pools will be less crowded, as will the dining venues. What ship will you be taking?

If you like to gamble, you can take a taxi to paradise island and go to Atlantis.
There is a great aquarium there also. You do walk through it, but it's not lots of walking and it's not strenous.
Hope you have a wonderful time.
Even if you're not sit on the beach people, you should experience the breathtaking views of that combination of sand surf and palm trees!

Hi turtleshel, welcome to Cruise-Chat. You can always do an island tour, where you get in a van/taxi and tour the island. The Atlantis in Nassau (Paradise Island) is beautiful. In Freeport, you could take a cab/van tour to Lucaya area, but a tour around the island might be nice, too. I would highly recommend at least a short visit to a beach, the water is beautiful and the sand is so clean, just like powder. As Lisa said, there are on board specials and you can relax by the pool, read a good book, rest, watch a movie, play a game. Whatever you wish to do, you can do. There's always lots to do onboard on port days and much less croweded. But, if you'd like to get out, try a taxi city tour or a tour to Paradise Island. The Atlantis resort is a must-see. Also, for some nice shopping, try the straw market. Remember, don't settle for their first price.
