San Juan ATV rainforest excursion

We are going on an ATV adventure in the rainforest of San Juan. It doesn't say in the description, but is it buggy? Do you need to wear long pants, even if it is 90 degrees? Anyone know what kinds of bugs are in this area?

Unfortunately, I didn't go into the rainforest in San Juan, but I was with an ATV tour in Cozumel last week, and I wish I had bug spray. I also noticed that the people who got off the ATV's (we were horseback) were filthy! I think they may have wished they wore long pants.

Unfortunatly, I can't comment on the bugs in San Juan - but I will be doing the rain forest (on foot) in September, so please report back.

I can, however, echo what Mama said - my parents did an ATV tour (not sure where) and got pretty filthy. So don't wear your tux. My mom actually walked around the ship for about an hour until someone finally told her she had a dirt outline on her face from the googles they gave her while riding. Maybe it will be less dusty in the rain forest, but be prepared.

Well buggies are not the standards on this atv tours generally they use jeeps mostly suzuki's so my guess will be that you will have either a suzuki or a jeep. Yes I will recomend to use long jeans pants, thats the rain forest it will be humid and Depending on the time of year you visit us it can be hot or cold.
Let me give you some tips about "El Yunque" our rain forest:

1. Ask about the ovnis stories and the chupacabra.

2. You will need bug spray mostly for mosquitos.

3. Take excedrin or panadol it help for the hot climates, it can give you a good head-pain situation without them.

4. Buy a camel back-pack with water and bring it with you for all your excursions in the caribbean.

5. Don't leave Puerto Rico without seen Old San Juan and "El morro"

6. If you go to the Old San Juan and dicide to eat please ask for our typical food you will enjoy it.

What are some other fun things to do in San Juan besides the fort and Old San Juan?

It depends on where you are staying. After our cruise, we spent one night at Plaza Diamond Casino and Hotel. Although we had the largest suite I ever had at any hotel before, it was full of cockroaches, so don't go there. However it was a near a chain hotel with a very nice beach, so we spent most of our time there, pretending like we were guests. However, we didn't take advantage of the hotel, like using their pool or lounge chairs, but we did eat at their restaurants and shopped in their gift shop. The kids had lots of fun on the beach, and also swam at our hotel's (tiny) pool.
