Almost every cruise we've been on (16) has stopped in St. Thomas. We've never had any problems. Where ever you travel you need to not act like a tourist, don't pull out wads of money, don't go out dripping in diamonds and gold, and like mooneydiva stated be aware of your surroundings. We normally go snorkeling because I'm not a big shopper and I love the caribbean waters. We've walked from the docks to downtown in St. Thomas and have never been bothered. The majority of the ports the cruise lines call on do not want to do anything to deter the tourism dollar. I think you'll really enjoy St. Thomas. Have a wonderful cruise!
