trunk bay snorkeling

This is my first time snorkeling. Is it as spectacular as they say it is. Any advice for a first time snorkeler.

Trunk bay is beautiful, the water is so clear and warm. It's a beach snorkel that has a self guided tour. There is a wonderful beach, with lockers, a couple of shops (not cheap-buy on St. Thomas), a snack bar, and showers. The ride from the Ferry to the beach is beautiful, try to spend some time in St. Johns as well, it's a great island. We've been on some wonderful snorkeling trips and this one is right up there. Have a wonderful time!!

I forgot a tip for a first time snorkel. If you start to panic, simply lift your head out of the water and drop your tube out of your mouth. Relax and don't try to swim too hard, you don't need to use your hands, just your fins. The ocean is very bouyant, you will float easily and glide through the water.

we have been to trunk bay twice and think it is wonderful...took my kids for their 1st snorkel experince and they loved it too(age 6 and 8 at the time).you feel as if you are "in the postcard".a definate must see if you have never been there. (i evn have a painting of it in my family room now for happy memories!!)
