Is it possible to find a nice beach that you can wade out and snorkle from? We have 2 kids and would prefer not to have to pay to Atlantis. Can you stay on the beach in Blue Lagoon?

You don't have to pay Atlantis to go to the beach. Cabbage beach is on the right side of Atlantis and is free. It is not a great beach for snorkeling though. If you decide to go take a regular taxi, NOT the water taxi! Blue Lagoon is not on the island, you have to take an excursion or tour over to the little island. It is pretty nice and better for wading and snorkeling.

Hopefully someone will have some recommendations, I have only been to those two places.

I've only been to Paradise Island in Nassau for beaches. I went to the one next to the Atlantis and I stayed at Merv Griffith's resort and used that beach. Other than that I just toured Nassau, the straw market, the queen's staircase, and they used to have a turtle farm. Actually, now that you mention the Blue Lagoon. A long time ago on the Dauphne, we went on an excursion to an island where there was a beautiful beach, maybe that way the Blue Lagoon before the movie came out. Wow, that's really clearing out some cobwebs. Amy, your children can walk around the Atlantis free of charge as well, there's so much for them to see. I think they'd have a ball there. All it would cost is the cab fare, which isn't that much, I think around $4.50 plus the $2.00 toll for the bridge. Best wishes and Happy Holidays!
