Does the Dominican R. have a lot of bugs?

I was there a few years back in June and I don't remember it to have been a problem.

Mosquitos are not a problem in DR. Once in a while you might find a patch of fire ants but hardly ever on the beach because the are around vegetation.

My sister and her family just got back from a week at the Ocean Blue Resort in Punta Cana. I called and asked her your question. She said she didn't see ANY bugs at their resort or beach area. She did say that it seemed every night there was a jeep driving around spraying insecticide (she thought) so that may be why.

I was debating whether to take yet another cruise or go to an all-inclusive resort in the D.R.

My friends tell me to go to the D.R.

I have always had a good time on my cruises...and there are NO BUGS onboard... or at least I have never encountered them.

After some thought, I think I will stay with cruising. It is what I know. It is less expensive and less complicated.
