Excursions Western Carribean

We are going on the Valor early January to Cayman Islands, Belize, Cozmel, and Roatan. Im pretty sure were going to do the cave tubing in belize and sting ray city in Caymans. Are those both worth it? Any suggestions on how to spend our time in Cozmel and Roatan? My boyfriend loves adventure and we also love to site see, and we dont mind a little shopping.

Yes, both the cave tubing and the stingray city tours are "musts" for those port stops. I have not been to Roatan yet but for Cozumel, you must do some form of snorkeling or scuba. At the very least hit a beach. There are many things to this nature that can be done "on your own" or even with a ships tour. In Cozumel, one of the Mayan ruin tours is nice but that consume the entire day. If it is going to be your first time in Cozumel, you may want to skip those in favor of seeing Cozumel and save them for a future visit.

We did a fantastic sail/snorkel in Roatan through the ship. The water was crystal clear, plenty of coral and sea life. There have been tons of posts about Tabayana Beach saying how great that was. If you use your "Find" feature in the upper left hand corner and type in Roatan or Cozumel it will pull up all the posts made. We did the Tulum/Xel-Ha excursion in Cozumel (the all day that Jim was referring to) that was fantastic. I would rather have spent more time in Xel-Ha, but the ruins were great (Tulum). Chankanaab Park is a great place in Cozumel as well. They have the dolphin swim available, snorkeling, beaches, shops, restaurant/bar, lockers, etc. there. Have a great time!

I vote for Tulum......if you are interested in Mayan ruins, it's a must see....Belize I will do the Old Belize river and Altun Ha Mayan ruins....been there before and enjoyed it...saw monkeys, lizards, crocs, manatees on the river...great way to spend the day....and there is always shopping in Cozumel.....Happy Cruising..

For Roatan I would stick with a ship excursion at least for your first visit.
