- How long is from the port to the beach
- how much would a taxi cost
- is it worth the visit

Although, if you are short of clean clothing, you may want to consider Orient Beach.

Are you talking about Maho Beach, St. John?? If so the cab ride might be a bit too long. There are better beaches closer to Cruz Bay including the best beach, Trunk Bay. Trunk Bay Beach is much more scenic, prettier I think. Stayed on Maho in Sept. while staying on St. John. The beach is okay, not as crowded but certainly not as pretty as Trunk Bay. Hawksnest is closer also if you're looking for a less crowded option. I didn't see huge crowds on Trunk Bay Beach with 4 cruise ships in St. Thomas that day. There were plenty of people but not bothersome.
