Costs at Coco Cay

Can anyone tell me what it costs to rent a lifevest on Cococ Cay. We are planning on bringing our own gear but havent decided on the vests yet. I thought I read somewhere that is $9.00. Would this be right? Thanks everyone. I am really enjoying all the posts here as they are a great help.

For safety reasons, RCI requires all snorkelers to wear a vest - either one of their own or a rental. The rentals are $6 U.S.

We just got back from CocoCay. We rented equipment and got the vests..and we brought extra equipment. Lots of people did not wear the supplied vests and some went on their own with no vests. Its a good wswim out to the plane though so its not a bad idea unless you are a pretty good swimmer.

To me, although I am a good swimmer, it is stupid to not have a vest of some sort. Things can happen. And it is also nice to be able to relax and let the vest do the work.
