I would like to see Stingray City in Grand Cayman and Dunn River Falls in Jamaica. My question - I don't swim and don't want to snorkel. Can I still do both excursions? Suggestions of companies to book with?
There is no swimming envolved with Dunn's at all. And to my knowledge you can see the stingrays from the beach and walk out to your comfort level of depth.
I have to agree with Island Cruz on Dunn River Fall. If I remember correctly Stingray City is on a sand bar. It's only 3' or 4' deep. If you are scared of water I would say no on this one. They usullay stop for snorkling but only for 30 minutes. You could stay on boat.
rocco, welcome. Both excursions are amazing to experience. But, since you do not swim, Dunns River Falls is a water rock climbing adventure. There is no need to swim, but there will be rushing water coming towards you. At stingray city you will be able to stand in waist deep water where the excursion boat anchors. You can experience this without snorkeling. It is still exciting to have the stingrays swimming at your feet. As mollroddot stated, when the boat stops to do the snorkeling bit, stay on the vessel and catch some sun. If it is something that you are really looking forward to experiencing, there are ways to do it. Stingray city and Dunns River Falls are 2 of my all-time favorites. Have fun.
I agree, agree, agree. I have Dunn done River falls twice and I can't remember feeling like a salmon trying to swim up stream; but, remember to bring the swim socks as the rocks are very slippery. Also, I put on a life jacket at Sting Ray City only to jump in the water and found out I was up to my waist..In other words, spend the money and do both of them you'll have a great time and memories and stories to pass along.

My family and I did both last year. Neither requires you be able to swim. However, Dunns River can be physically taxing and I just stayed on the boat and watched my son and wife feed the stingrays.
And for sting ray city you can wear a life vest to be certain you remain safe. It is on a sand bar, but you want to be protected in case you should get into water that is too deep.
For the falls, you don't get into any water more than waste deep and most of the time it is only ankle deep. You need to be more concerned with the physical requirements of climbing the falls. Its not for the weak hearted.
