Nassau Bahamas

Good morning everyone! i have a brief, hopefully simple question for you. One of our ports of call is Nassau and we would like to go shopping for a little bit in the street shops and then go to a beach if possible and soak in the sun in the nice white sand. How do i go about getting to the shopping, eat lunch, get to the beach? I'm just confused about the proximity of everything and the best way to make this happen in the time frame that we are offered. Well, there is the expensive way ...book a cruise ship beach break/ shopping excursion.. I'm sure they have something where they take you to a beach and then for a little shopping (which you should be warned is typically at shops owned or affiliated with the excusrion company).. Or do it the cheap way and do it yourself. The shopping district is within easy reach of the ship. Then, take a cab to a beach. I have not been to Nassau since 1990, so I realy shouldn't offer up a good beach. Maybe others on this forum will chime in. BUT, I have seen many suggest taking a cab ride over to Alantis and paying for a "day pass" to there resort beach. At least that way you are sure you will have a cab available for the return trip to the ship. Just rememeber to leave plenty of time to get back to the ship before sailing time. I would save the shopping for the second part of you day, that way you are close to the ship if time gets away from you...

That is wonderful information. How do i do the day pass to Atlantis...just hop a cab there and then pay when i get there? That sounds nice.

I have a ?? about the day pass to Atlantis, arent there some attractions you cant do unless you are a guest at the resort?

The shopping is an easy walk from the ship.

There are some nice beaches near the Atlantis and unless you want to see the casino, aquarium and the rest of the resort you don't have to pay too much if anything.
You can get a taxi or a ferry to the Atlantis beach area.

dbug, I don't think you're allowed to use the pools if you're not a guest at the hotel.

Hi Amanda. Visit www.Atlantis.com Their site is very user-friendly. You may contact the resort with any questions/concerns and they will assist you. They do have day use. Towels are available for guests of the hotel only. Be sure to bring your room towels if you go. Have fun. A'ndrea
