Cozumel Snorkel & Dive

I spoke with a few dive companies today to see what are options for our upcoming trip. Unfortunately they have reported that a lot of the beach snorkel sites had the coral destroyed, not much left to see. On the bright side, the offshore reefs are in good shape. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions from those that have been there after Wilma. We are going as a group of 6, some were going to snorkel, some snuba, and 2 resort dive. Think we will hire a boat now and hit the reefs for snorkel only.

If you're serious about snorkeling and want to dive too, then a boat sounds like a good idea. If you just want to turn up at a beach and snorkel, you can also take a boat from Palancar Beach. There's a new report on all the beaches that includes information and photos for Palancar Beach on my website today...

Just took my first cruise in spring and stopped in Cozumel and took a snorkel day trip. Referred through a friend, I booked with http://www.travelnotes.cc. Really good deal. Saw one that you might like without having to pay for a private boat. It was called the Combo Trip.

Thanks for the response. The combo dive looks like an interesting option for us. Two of our group will be in Cozumel next week, will get them to check up on a few things there, then will book for all of us when we hear back.
