Snorkling

Where is the best place to snorkle? Ports are Antigua, St Lucia, Barbadoes, St Kitts, St Thomas and Princess Cays. Thanks.

Hey Bub,

I can recommend great snorkeling in St. Thomas...you take the ferry over to St. John's and go to Trunk Bay beach. They have an underwater snorkeling trail that is just plain awesome!

Snorkled Antigua - fair to good; Barbados - good; St. Kitts - fair; Princess Kays - good, but go the far far end of the beach, to the left as you're coming into shore (that stop was a waste of time, IMO). Wanted to try Trunk Bay on St. Johns but the waves were too strong and swimming wasn't allowed on that day. If that happens to you have a back-up plan for a beach on the other side of the island.

I totally agree with Trunk Bay. There are also some great catamaran tours to Buck Island that have good snorkeling. Antigua, too many jelly fish for me. St. Kitts, I agree with Bob1958, not really very good. Princess Cay, not bad and I enjoyed the island as well. You can go out the back of the fence and there are some local vendors there. I think they're ok with you walking around as well. At least we didn't get yelled at If the weather isn't good, don't go to Trunk Bay, but if it is do make the trip, it's awesome. If it's kind of yucky, Sapphire Beach and Coki Beach have decent snorkeling on the island of St. Thomas itself. Hope this helps.
