Yes, you can still see the fish while floating. That is snorkeling. You can go down lower if you want, but that would be diving

You are welcome here, and glad you joined us. But please don't post in all CAPS, it is considered shouting. You are going to get on Dave's nerves. Just type like you would write or speak to someone and un click the Caps Lock

Welcome

To be honest, I found the snorkeling in Nassau to be fair at best. The water is rough..or at least it was the day I was there. Much better in Cozumel, Roatan, and Belize. Just my opinion. I found Nassau to be more of a tour around town kind of a place! Not a beach place!

Shondie,
Just wanted to let you know that the water there is kinda cold. If you can rent a wet-suit or if you already have one, I suggest you take it. Most people on our tour didn't last 5 minutes in the water.

Hi Shondie, No apology needed. Just thought I would give you a friendly tip nicely before someone else said something in a different way

I think the water is warm, but that would depend on when you go. I go in Oct. and is like bath water to me. So Ally makes a good point. I think you will be fine and will really love snorkeling.

We were just in Nassau at the very end of April. We went to Cabbage Beach and the water was FREEZING!!!! Not refreshing at all, I only got in up to my knees. And by the way, I am extremely hot-natured! And it was very hot outside!

musigal, you are correct. We were there a few years ago and luckily the ship we were on rented wet suits. We didn't know that until the last time we snorkeled! We bought full wetsuits when we got home so we'll never freeze like that again
