Tom & Toni, when I took a cruise to Roatan in '99, the cruise line (NCL) offered a shore excursion to Tabyana Beach, which I booked. The beach was very nice - clean, lots of shade available for those who like (or need) it, a small gift shop, a bathhouse/changing room, etc. Lunch was provided - just ok, as most beach lunches seem to be, but at least there was something to eat! The van ride there was moderately exciting, driving along a ridge road on the island's "spine," but safe enough. Nothing spectacular, but a nice beach - and I did appreciate the amount of shade.
