Has anyone had experience with the Paradisus Puerto Rico resort in Coco Beach?

It's about an hour from San Juan, but is listed as a 5 star resort. Not cheap, but maybe a nice place to spend a couple of pre-cruise days.

If you like golf, staying at the beach and eating I guess its okay but if you want to walk around old san Juan, mingle with the locals, visit museums, visit a rum distillery, and more I would stay in San Juan. Find other options at www.puertoricoplanner.com

If you want to stay close to the port, one of the most luxurious resorts in Puerto Rico, the Caribe Hilton is set on an exclusive peninsula, made up of 17 acres of lush tropical gardens, this resort is ideally situated between the historic old San Juan and the Condado area. If you want to save some money, stay at the Normandie hotel, which is next door, and spend time on the Caribe grounds. We did that last February. The Caribe has some great restaurants.

How far away is Caribe Hilton from port? We are going to San Juan - August 24 - Would like to see the resort. Can you use there pools?

Yes you can use their pools. Just act like you're a customer. It's about 3 miles from Old San Juan. If your at the Pan American Pier, it's a little closer. You will have to take a cab.
