Water Shoes Really Needed in Labadee?

Hi there,

We will be in Labadee on our cruise in October, and some people say that water shoes are not really necessary,my cousin who is also coming with us, HATES water shoes and says she won't wear them. Is it really better/safer to wear them?

You'll need water shoes if you swim on the North beach where the zipline is. No water shoes are needed on the South beaches where the ship is moored. This image shows Labadee is not an Island. You can seem some of the beach areas.
